If you are a green tea lover you will love this recipe. Green tea is great for the metabolism, brain, heart, nervous system, and digestive system. It’s also incredibly balancing to the hormones as well. Enjoy!
Serves: 4
Ingredients: 4
- 4 cups water
- sweetener of choice, either 15 drops liquid stevia, 2 tbsp. honey, 2 tbsp. coconut sugar, or 1 tsp. pure stevia extract powder
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ½ tsp. ground ginger
- ⅛ tsp. ground cloves
- 1 apple of choice, seeded and coarsely chopped, plus an additional apple for slices for serving
- 1/3 cup loose green tea ( I like matcha)
Directions: Boil the water in a large pot on the stove. Once it starts to boil, reduce to medium heat and add the loose-leaf tea, along with the spices and sweetener. Stir well for a few minutes with a whisk to combine everything. Next, add 1 chopped apple of choice, and let it steep for 10 minutes on low heat. Come back and pass through a strainer into a large bowl. Measure 4 servings with a ladle, and enjoy with a slice of lemon, or pour into a pitcher and keep it in the fridge. If you don’t have apples, feel free to use a touch of apple cider vinegar after you boil it. While it’s not the same flavor, it will give it a lovely, sugar-free apple taste. If you’re making this for a party, feel free to garnish each mug with a single apple slice ( very thin) from another fresh apple.
